The clamping sleeves are interchangeable modular units requiring no readjustment and can be ground by you. With the double conical expansion of the clamping sleeves by 0.8mm, a perfect clamping geometry is obtained. The repeat accuracy is in the range of 0.01mm. Special clamping sleeves are also available for clamping profiled, internally toothed, stepped or conical workpieces.	Flexible clamping of workpieces with diverse bore diameters with the same mandrel and high precision of 0.01mm. Unique wide clamping range offers considerable advantages over other conventional clamping systems. Fewer mandrels are required, shorter set-up time and greater flexibility.

The new lathes and turning centers available today are increasingly being used for the production of very exacting, high-precision work pieces. With precision requirements of 0,01 mm (.0004”), new chucking techniques must be capable of transmitting, within microns, the spindle precision of the machine to the work piece. FORKARDT offers this micron precision capability within its present line of 3 KCHS power chucks. The unique design of this chuck is based on the proven FORKARDT wedge-hook principle and incorporates a high-strength aluminium alloy chuck body. This chucking technique takes advantage of our advanced engineering capabilities and offers a more reliable and user friendly operation. Increased production and precision is obtained by this new standard of chucking, and specifically, because of its completely sealed, built in oil lubrication system, it creates a wear resistant environment and allows for a maintenance free operation. This means lasting quality during long term production machining. Changing jaws without the need for reworking the clamping areas will lead to major gains in your production. Lasting accuracy and wear free operation are accomplished because of the chucks completely sealed oil bath system.   Vibration problems encountered during hard turning operations can be controlled using the FORKARDT 3 KCHS chuck. The design features of this chuck emphasize vibration damping properties. Many successful applications confirm the excellent suitability of this application for very demanding production processes.	High production turning operations with micron precision This is accomplished with the 3 KCHS power chucks used for machinig hard and soft materials. The latest advancements in cutting tools permit the finish machining of even the hardest of materials which provides enhanced flexibility during the maching process.   Start-Stop dynamics is easy on the spindle The lightweight technique of this chuck, successfully pioneered by FORKARDT yields a previously unobtainable small inertial mass. The small inertial mass of the 3 KCHS product line will provide lasting accuracies as it becomes an extension of the machine accuracy, resulting in more accurate manufacturing.   Clamping repeatability of less than 0,0025 mm (.0001 “) The hardened and ground serrations assure a jaw change repeatability of 0,005 mm (.0002 “), eliminating the need for the time consuming rework of clamping areas.

Gripping Force Meters SKM 1200 and SKM 1500 Features The SKM gripping force meters are electronic / mechanical units in compact design. Undivided soft top jaws FMB Soft jaws type FMB are used for the accurate clamping of already machined work pieces, on which clamping surfaces should not be damaged. These jaws are turned, by the user, under clamping pressure, to the respective clamping diameter to ensure extremely high accuracy and repeatability.	Undivided hard stepped jaws FSTB Jaws for universal application that can be reground in the chuck. Increased driving force due to multiple teeth for maximum stability.
Hard top jaws FHB Hardened top jaws for universal application. The jaws can be reground in the chuck. FHB have an increased driving force due to multiple teeth.	Soft top jaws FWB Soft jaws type FWB are used for the accurate clamping of already machined work pieces, on which clamping surfaces should not be damaged. These jaws are turned, by the user, under clamping pressure, to the respective clamping diameter to ensure extremely high accuracy and repeatability.
Base jaws FGB Hardened base jaws with soft top jaws for clamping finished machined workpieces. Highest precision for finish-machining and precision work can be achieved by turning of the chucking diameter in the chuck under clamping pressure.
Jaws for Power Chucks
Hardened top jaws HB and HBT Hardened top jaw for universal application that can be ground in the chuck when mounted. Higher clamping force due to diamond style serration. The jaws are readily ground when delivered with a FORKARDT chuck.	Roughing jaws KBKTNC For heavy duty machining of overhanging work pieces roughing jaws KBKTNC with replaceable chucking claws SKA (for external clamping) and SKI (for internal clamping) are available. The chucking claws provide safest gripping even on short clamp surfaces.
Soft top jaws WBL, WBS These jaws are used for clamping workpieces that have already been turned and whose gripping areas must not be damaged. OKRJ Rotary hydraulic cylinders   Rotary hydraulic cylinders OKRJ are used primarily to actuate closed centre power chucks. However, when used with open centre power chucks, they provide a partly open chucking system, which allows long workpieces to be pushed into the front of the lathe spindle. The modular construction of the OKRJ cylinder facilitates the addition of specific elements, such as a dynamic workpiece pressure control system or pipes for a water cooling system. ...more information	OMHJ hydraulic cylinders   OMHJ hydraulic cylinders permit maximum advantage to be made of the large bore hole found in FORKARDT power chucks. Optimized for use with the QLC chuck, this high performance cylinder can be used to actuate all FORKARDT power chucks.
PZR closed centre pneumatic cylinders   These are closed centre pneumatic cylinders for the actuation of closed and partly open centre power chucks. They are suitable for the same applications as the OKRJ cylinders, but, as air is used as the pressure medium, the gripping force range that can be generated with these cylinders is not as high as that of hydraulically powered cylinders.	PZLHM rotating pneumatic through hole cylinders   PZLHM pneumatic through hole cylinders in light metal construction have been developed specifically for power chucks operating at speeds of up to 8,000 rpm. The cylinders have a long stroke, low inertia effect and are virtually maintenance free. They are extremely reliable and suitable for high speeds even under continous operation.
