MACCON provides several families of servo and stepper motors, which can be used in a variety - in most cases demanding - machine and process applications:
- Torque motors: rotary direct drive motors for high torque at low speed; in most cases supplied as kit motor
- Linear motors: linear direct drive motor in 3-phase version (ironless or ironcore), also as ready to use integrated linear tables; voice coil actuators
- Servo motors: dynamic 3-phase brushless DC-motors, for low voltage to 3x 480Vac supply, many feedback options (resolver, halls, incremental encoder (digital and sine/cosine), absolut encoders (EnDat, Hiperface, BiSS), brakes, gearboxes, housed or kit versions
- Stepper motors: cost-effective positioning motors, industrial and low cost versions, optional encoders, brakes or gearboxes available
- Gearboxes: adjust the torque/speed behaviour of the high speed servo motors to the (in most cases) much slower speed requirements in the application; this allows for a smaller motor and a overall more cost-effective solution
- Custom motors: we do not only adapt our motors to your application, we design your own motor if needed
For applications which can't be served with catalogue motors we can help with modified versions both for electrical and mechanical data. In case where just a modification is not sufficient we are able to design and manufacture your custom motor as a special solution for your application.

传动与控制
Without electronic and soft and firmware modern motion control just would not exist. Behind any servo or stepper motor we use there is an amplifier and positioning controller and of course a machine controller for general control. We differentiate between central and decentral (intelligence at each axis, connected with a communications bus system) topology.
In the central control topology all the intelligence is centralised into one dedicated processor (the brain), which is responsible for all tasks regarding axis coordination (including interpolation), path calculation and generation and the position control. Depending on the exact configuration the controller may also be able to do the speed and current control; the command usually is an analog +/-10V signal or a digital PWM or pulse/direction signal.
Delta Tau servo controllers
Some controllers are able to take over responsibility for the motor commutation also, which has the advantage that the feedback needs to be connected to the controller only. The command is provided by two analog +/-10V signals (UV commutation commands) or by two digital PWM signals (digital UV commutation commands). Some controllers can even provide the switching commands for the power ICs directly, so that the power electronics only consists of the semiconductors and some protective circuit.
In the decentralised topology the motion control intelligence is provided by the single axis controllers, to take away the motion control specific tasks from the central processor; the amplifiers in this case are responsible for the motion tasks like path planning etc. For the communication several bus systems like CANopen, Profibus, EtherCAT etc. are available.
The most digital amplifiers today have already quite some intelligence on board (e.g. to provide a very comfortable setup tool) so that they also provide a fieldbus connection in addition to the classical +/-10V interface and therefore they are ideally suited for decentralised motion control architecture.

SENSORS
For commutation, digital velocity and positioning control of our motors we use linear and angular sensors. We supply feedback systems with 3 physical principles:
- electrical sensors
- magnetical sensors
- optical sensors
Electrical sensors
These sensors use the capacitive principle. They have specific advantages regarding size, weight, rigidity and power consumption and can be geometrically adapted to your application. The electrical sensors provide an absolute position information within one rotation (360°). They are also available as linear sensors.
MACCON is the exclusive distributor for the Netzer electrical encoders for the German speaking countries.
Magnetical sensors
Magnetical sensors are often used because of their robustness, modularity and insensibility regarding high and low temperatures
- Resolvers by Tamagawa, LTN, Alxion, Harowe, Artus
- Inductosyn
- Magnetoresistive sensors by AMO and Baumer-Huebner
Optical sensors
Optical sensors are the most common sensors in position control applications. Therefore we find the biggest variety of types and dimensions in this technology.
These sensors supply the highest accuracy. We use them in our own applications and distribute sensors of the following companies:
- Heidenhain
- SICK-Stegmann
- Renishaw
- Numerik Jena
- Avago (former hp)
DC-Tachometer
For precise velocity control and disturbance suppression at axis with analog amplifiers the DC-Tachometer is still the best solution. Please ask for our catalogue.
