Mobile Laser Scanning

Both RIEGL 2D and 3D laser scanners are ideally suited for mobile mapping applications. In order to register scan data acquired from moving platforms, such as boats, trains, road and off-road vehicles, the laser scanner is supplemented by position and attitude sensors, for example GPS (Global Positioning System) and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit).

All RIEGL scanners are rugged and fully portable instruments, tested under strict conditions for a reliable performance even under highly demanding environ-mental conditions.

Distancemeters

The sensors of the LD90-3 series are based on the well-proven principle of time-of-flight measurement of short laser pulses. They can be operated with practically any target surface, i.e. "reflectorless" up to many hundred meters, and up to more than 1000 m with reflecting foil or retroreflectors.

The distance and level meter LD90-3-GF is a measuring system consisting of an optical head and a separate electronics box connected by a duplex glass-fiber cable. The optical head can be operated in exposed environments (like high temperature areas), whereas the electronics box can be remotely installed in a protected area.

The RIEGL LD90-4 is an economically priced, high reliability distance sensor for industrial use "reflectorless" or with retroreflecting targets. The implemented "High Penetration" technology allows its use even under conditions of bad visibility, e.g. rain, dust, fog etc.

Rangefinders

The RIEGL FG21 series is a product line of extremely compact, durable, and high performance handheld instruments for distance  measurements. Protected by thick rubber, it is ideal for use in harsh environments. The 6x30 sighting optics enables looking at almost any arbitrary target.

At the push of the trigger button, the instrument emits pulses of eyesafe laser light toward the object. The distance to the object is calculated based on the time taken for the reflected light to return. Distance is displayed in large, easily legible digits in the sighting optics typically in less than one second. A powerful short-range suppression feature facilitates reliable use in bad weather conditions such as heavy rain, snowfall, or fog as well as measurements through a window.
