SCHROEDAHL develops and produces high quality pump protection valves for the up- and downstream segments.

They are applied on offshore platforms, FPSO- (Floating Production Storage Offloading) or FSO- (Floating Storage Offloading) ships as well as in refineries and plants in the chemical industry.

SCHROEDAHL belongs to the world leading specialists in the development and production of high quality control valves for nuclear applications.

For decades SCHROEDAHL has accompanied the development and extension of nuclear technology in power station activity. With high-end products we contribute to efficiency and in particular to reliable safety of many systems in Europe and in many countries all over the world.

In the line of converting the newest nuclear technology generation, the European pressurised reactor technology (EPR), SCHROEDAHL  supplies all control valves in the field „Nuclear Island“. The foundation of the special trust in the SCHROEDAHL competence lies in a consequent quality- and management-system, which in the past has realised and supplied absolute reliable valve solutions.

In the future, to be able to improve safety conditions in established nuclear systems, SCHROEDAHL provides special upgrade kits. They are custom built to the individual requirements of the respective system and specialy produced under the outlines of a high class quality procedure.
With this improvement the risks are reliably minimized long-term.

We are qualified supplier according to the current regulations amongst others KTA- (IAE 50-C/SG—Q) and RCCM.

We see ourselves as sophisticated problem solvers, who think beyond the requirements of the singular control valve to evaluate the entire process. In this way we evoke solutions beyond standards and point a way for the market.

On the way to especially high quality products we use our vast know-how as well as the Finite Element Method (FEM). Every control valve, that leaves our company , is exactly and individually custom made to the specific requirements of the system. For this purpose we simulate the application flow and investigate where increased stresses and strains occur in the valve and where we can systematically minimize potential risks and wear.

Quality and safety are of the utmost importance to us and for this reason we do not compromise on these points. Every SCHROEDAHL product undergoes intensive stress and strain testing on the in-house test bench before delivery. Experience shows that the tests are adventageous. SCHROEDAHL products are not prone to repairs, they convince by an especially long life.

According to requirements SCHROEDAHL control valves can be applied in pressure-, temperature-, and level-regulator circuits as well as in volume regulator circuits in all areas of power plant and in many industrial processes.

SCHROEDAHL invented the pump protection valve and is the world market leader in this sector.
 
Pump protection valves are required to ensure the minimum flow rate of a pump at all times. This protects the pump against overheating, cavitation and finally, destruction. If the flow through the pump falls below a certain level the bypass system opens and the fluid will be recirculated providing the required minimum flow for the pump.
 
The SCHROEDAHL- pump protection valves work in a modulating way. Should the discaharge increase through the following processes, then the amount of fluid recirculated by the bypass is automatically reduced- and vice versa. This increases the efficiency of the entire system and optimises the economy in the low-load operation.
 
The pump protection works entirely over the inside valve technology. The volume by which the process decreases is measured independent of the pressure – the amount returned over the bypass is adapted automatically.

The SCHROEDAHL control valve.

Profit from our experience and know-how SCHROEDAHL has developed and produced control valves since 1962.

Control valves are a conventional form of pump protection. The system consists of the control valve with an attached drive mechanism, a flow measurement on the suction side of the pump as well as a control unit.

During the pump operation the flow rate is continuously measured, the results are transmitted to the control unit. If the required minimum flow rate of the pump is not sustained, the control unit opens the control valve and allows the necessary flow of material(for example oil, gas, seawater, chemical solutions). The destruction of the pump through cavitation or overheating is prevented. 
 

SCHROEDAHL offer technically mature and worldwide approved control valve systems, that are pre-set at an optimum according to your specifications.

Our experienced technicians and mechanics willingly undertake the exact fine adjustments and calibration of the systems components during the commissioning on site.

Of course, we will be present for maintenance and servicing of the control system (for example checking the calibrations).
