Klaschka sensors in machines and installations of industry are basic elements of automation. They work non-contacting and contactless, reactionless and free of wear and thus have an unlimited operating life.

They are unsensitive against dirt collection and can be employed in a large ambient temperature range.

The proximity switches detect final- and intermediate positions of linear- and rotatingly moved machine parts with short response times.

Via evaluating devices fast pulse sensors are able to determine incrementally the rotating speed, stroke number and frequency as well as the position and the speed of moved machine parts.

Distance- and position encoders supply a current which is analog to the measured variable or alternatively an analog voltage. They are inexpensive absolute-value-devices with short operating times.

Inductive Proximity Switches	For the contactless detection of metals. The sensor consists of a coil, which is part of an oscillating circuit in a measuring oscillator. The switch responds to all metal types. In the " all metal" version the switching distance is the same for all metals.
Pulse Sensors	For the contactless detection of motions with high frequency. These hall sensors either have a hall element, a magnetically changeable resistsance or an inductance as measuring sensor. The maximum switching frequency is 25 kHz with switching distances > 2 mm. Also available as Double Pulse Sensor to detect direction of rotation.
Distance Sensors	Distance sensors determine the distance to a device under measurement, e. g. for the measurement of filling level, dip, contact protection and others. With inductive sensors within ranges up to 100 mm, with acoustic sensors from the decimal - to the meter measuring range. With analog current or voltage output.
Code Readers	Memorized codes (e. g. for the clear identification of a part) are transmitted to evaluation devices and compared to the nominal values. Please find the WIDENT position detector, which is employed e.g. at shutter gates or plants, in this chapter under "Data Switches".
Safety-related	Non-contact safety switches with certification up to safety rating 4. A transponder transmits its permanent data content to an approaching sensor with a permanently installed information. If data contents correspond to each other, the sensor transmits a positive signal on two channels.
Inductive Sensors	Inductive proximity sensors (with passive output) in space-saving design which is suitable for applications in harsh environments, such as in presses and iron- or steel works. A coil inductivity in a sensor housing as part of an oscillating circuit is changed and reduced by an approaching metal part. A connected evaluation device triggers a switching signal.
Rotary Pulse Sensors	Rotary pulse sensors convert rotations into electrical pulses for the measurement of tracking, speed- or linear measurement.
Acoustic	Acoustic sensors are suitable for large distances. These sensors have a piezo-ceramic sound converter, which emits pulse packages and receives the reflected pulse packages in turn. The distance of the object is determined by the running time measured.
Capacitive	Capacitve sensors serve for the detection of different materials (e. g. paper, plastic, wood). The construction corresponds to that of the inductive proximity switch, the sensor element, however, consists of a condensor. The sensor responds to conducting materials, i. e. apart from metals also to wood.
Optical	Optical sensors are suitable for large distances. Light which is emitted by a transmitter is interrupted by an object and triggers off a switching command in the receiver. When used with reflected-light barriers the transmitter and receiver are fitted in one housing.
Specific	Sensors with specific properties as well as customer-specific developments. Examples are sensors for the thickness measurement, for film recognition, spark detection, pulse number switches, inductive ring- and fork-shaped switches with the associating evaluation devices.
